#FanFilmFriday: Batman: Dying Is Easy

This has been buzzing since it was released and has already racked up (as of our viewing) about 4 million views in just over a week! Batman: Dying Is Easy was produced by the fine folks at Bat In The Sun – whom we loved for their Super Power Beat Down series in the past and as well as their other Batman fan film, “City of Scars“.

Crowdfunded with a budget of $75,000, this amazing fan film centers around a psychological battle of wits between The Dark Knight and the Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime. We loved for example the little fan services homages along the way: from the musical cues and zeppelins in the Gotham skyline ala Batman: The Animated Series, to the slew of surprising guest stars that included Casper Van Dien (of Starship Troopers’ fame) playing Commissioner Gordon; Michael Madsen (best known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino films Reservoir Dogs, Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, and the Hateful Eight) playing Harvey Bullock; American Idol Season 5 contestant Chris Daughtry who played Hugo Strange; creature actor Doug Jones as The Riddler; and more.
