#FanFilmFriday: Rebel Scum

So, last week we featured a fan film that depicted the perspective of a Stormtrooper. To maintain balance in the Force, this week we are featuring a fan film that tells the tale of a Rebel soldier. 🙂

In Rebel Scum, a Rebel pilot faces death in the frozen wastelands of Hoth as the Empire closes in, following the Rebellion’s retreat from its bases there. It’s especially cool to note that nearly all of the visual effects were created without using CGI. Instead, it pays homage to the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes IV to VI) by using practical methods like stop-motion animation. Another achievement by the team is that the film was shot on location in -30°C (-22°F) weather, at the Columbia Icefield in Alberta, Canada.

Find out more about the film (including stuff behind the scenes) and its producers on its website or Facebook.

Total viewing time: 9:08 minutes.
