#FanFilmFriday: TK-436 – A Stormtrooper Story (FULL DIRECTOR’S CUT)

While exploring a familiar trope, this was a very well-executed and engaging fan film! TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story, is a gritty tale told from a perspective that is seldom explored within the Star Wars universe: that of the Stormtrooper. The film won the 2016 Filmmaker Select Award at Star Wars Celebration Europe.

Fun facts about TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story

  • All of the Stormtrooper costumes were made using EVA foam, athletic mats, and pepakura patterns.
  • The stormtrooper costumes were purposely made to look bulky and damaged in order to give the stormtroopers a more intimidating appearance.
  • The short film took approximately 7 months to complete.
  • In the film TK-436 supposedly has a beta model Helmet, complete with functional cheek filters (inspired by the First Order helmets) and advanced HUD capabilities.
