This is surprising to no one, actually. Except maybe for you – so spoilers after the jump!
Funko Pop, the maker of those big-headed cutesy figurines of practically every character possible, inadvertently confirmed that Mechagodzilla will officially join the MonsterVerse in the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong film. This doesn’t come as much of a shock because fans have been speculating that the robot doppelganger of the our favorite atomic-breathing giant lizard was going to make an appearance and was, in fact, the cause of the titular battle between the two titans.
So, when Funko revealed their tie-in figures for in a tweet, there was a collective “A-HA!” across the geekosphere.
The figure, in classic Funko style, was intriguingly named “the new Mechagodzilla“. Check it out:
It’ll be interesting to see what this, along with another confirmation that we will also see Mecha-King Ghidorah in the film, will mean for this clash of the Titans!
We’ll find out when Godzilla vs. Kong releases on March 31.
