We’re brushing up our CVs for what could be the most fun job in academia: to be the LEGO Professor of Play, Development, and Learning at one of the most prestigious institutions in the world – the University of Cambridge.
The job description is available here and the closing date for applications is Fri, 20 Jan 2017. This is a brand new, permanent position (the first in the world, in fact) and the successful candidate enjoys all the perks of a typical Cambridge professor – with an average salary of £83,981 (~US$103,646) – and will lead the university’s newly established Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development and Learning (Pedal).
While not in the job description, it’s entirely possible for you to walk around the streets of Cambridge town in a tweed jacket, smoking a pipe and hamming it up with, “G’day guvnor!”
